Dr. John Bender, ND, is a dedicated naturopathic doctor who believes that optimal health is essential for a good life. With a passion for helping others achieve well-being through complex homeopathy, botanicals, vitamins, minerals, and nutritional methods, he emphasizes the importance of a balanced lifestyle and healthy habits. Dr. Bender advocates for detoxification and minimizing toxic exposures in our daily environment. A respected figure in his field, Dr. Bender received the prestigious Naturopath of the Year Award from the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors in 2003, the Alumni of Honour Award from the University of Waterloo in 2007, and the Award for Excellence in Holistic Medicine from the Holistic Doctors Recognition Board. Dr. Bender was born and raised in Crosshill, Ontario, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Honours Biology from the University of Waterloo in 1972. He has extensive experience in emergency medical services, having worked as a Medical Attendant and EMT, where he graduated top of his class in an intensive EMT course at CFB Borden. In 1975, Dr. Bender began his naturopathic studies at the National College of Naturopathic Medicine (now the National University of Natural Medicine) in Portland, Oregon, inspired by Dr. Arno Koegler. He graduated in 1979, passed the Ontario Board exams, and succeeded his mentor in practice, where he continues to make his own homeopathic remedies. Committed to staying at the forefront of naturopathic medicine, Dr. Bender regularly attends seminars and educational courses to remain current with the latest advancements in homeopathy and functional medicine. His dedication to continuous learning ensures that he brings the most up-to-date therapies and knowledge to his practice. Dr. Bender has served on the Naturopathic Regulatory Board and is an active member of the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND) and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND). He also advises the Holistic Doctors Recognition Board. His commitment to lifelong learning and patient care continues to inspire his colleagues and advance the field of naturopathic medicine.
