Naturopathic Core Treatments - How Modern Science Supports What We've Always Known with Dr. Paul Anderson, NMD

Course Description:

Our vision for this panel session is to illuminate the powerful voices of doctors from marginalized communities, fostering a deeper understanding of their lived experiences. By sharing personal narratives and clinical insights, we aim to spotlight the urgent need to embrace inclusivity and compassion in our practices.   This session will also address the privileges inherent within our profession and the unconscious biases that many practitioners and medical education systems harbour.  Fundamental to our oath, this learning is crucial as we work to “Do No Harm”.  Recognizing and addressing these biases, privileges, and barriers to care is essential to providing safe and inclusive healthcare.  Together, we can create a healthcare environment where every individual feels seen, heard, and valued, paving the way for a more equitable and respectful future in medicine.

Join us for this transformative session to gain invaluable insights into creating an inclusive healthcare environment. By participating, you’ll learn practical strategies to recognize and dismantle biases, ensuring your practice aligns with the principles of equity and respect. Don’t miss this opportunity to enhance your professional skills and make a meaningful impact on patient care—sign up today to be a part of this vital conversation.

About the Speaker

It is with great pleasure that the OAND welcomes back former Manager of Clinical Education and Pulse Editor Anna-Liza Badaloo to moderate this pivotal training and panel at OANDCon24. Anna-Liza Badaloo (she/her) is an organizational justice consultant, un-learner, and inclusive storyteller working at the intersection of health, environment, and social justice. She is the Founder of Anemochory Consulting, and her lived experience as a queer, Indo-Caribbean, neurodiverse woman brings a valuable intersectional perspective to her work. She amplifies diverse voices via her Natural Health Equity column for the Institute for Natural Medicine, educates about environmental justice for organizations like the Women’s Healthy Environments Network (WHEN), the ENRICH Project, and the Canadian Coalition of Environmental and Climate Justice (CCECJ), and helps environmental non-profits decolonize their organizations with the Sustainability Network.
