Course Description:

A summary of the current evidence for maternal care postpartum. The American College of Obstetricians Gynecologists guidelines on postpartum care have changed, but the way we deliver care to this population has not. We have an opportunity as naturopathic doctors to fill in this void to provide evidence based, patient centred care postpartum. This impacts fetal health and longterm maternal mental health and well being.

Learning Objectives:

1. How to structure postpartum visits
2. Validated questionnaires and physical exams for assessment of this population
3. Lab tests required for this group and diagnostics
4. Treatment principles including nutritional, exercise, lifestyle, acupuncture, botanical medicine, vitamins and minerals.
