Bio-Identical Hormones For the Pre and Post-Menopausal Woman and the Low-Androgen Male


Course Description: 

The use of bio-identical hormone therapy (BHT) is a growing request from patients and has a benefits in many medical conditions, such as menorrhagia, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, significant menopausal symptoms, and when men suffer symptomatology due to low androgens. Learning how to use bio-identical hormones correctly and to ensure the patient is always safely and effectively treated is very important among prescribing Naturopathic Doctors. The nuances to BHT includes measuring labs, type of hormones, mixing hormones, hormone delivery, hormone dosages, knowing when it is safe, and how to change formulas based on patient experience. This presentation will be a comprehensive lecture on bio-identical hormone prescribing.

Dr. Mona Morstein, ND

Dr. Mona Morstein, ND, DHANP has been a practicing Naturopathic Doctor for twenty-nine years. She practiced for thirteen years in Montana, and then joined Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine where she was Chair of Nutrition, Gastroenterology professor and Clinical Supervisor. She is currently in private practice at her own clinic, Arizona Integrative Medical Solutions, in Tempe, AZ.  Dr. Morstein is recognized as an expert on pre-diabetes and diabetes, and also treats other hormonal conditions, reproductive, thyroid and adrenals. She is the author of the book ‘Master Your Diabetes: A Comprehensive, Integrative Approach to Both Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes’ and the Founder and Executive Director of the Low Carb Diabetes Association. Dr. Morstein also has a very busy gastrointestinal practice. Dr. Morstein is also considered an expert in treating SIBO in an organized, step-by-step, very thorough protocol.
