May the Force Be with You: How Strong Mitochondria Improve Cortisol and Stress Response with Dr. Carrie Jones, ND, ABNE, MPH

May the Force Be with You: How Strong Mitochondria Improve Cortisol and Stress Response

Its not all about ATP – did you know that cortisol is actually made in the mitochondria of the adrenals? Join Dr. Carrie Jones, ND, FABNE, MPH for a deep dive into the life of mitochondria. Carrie will share clinical pearls and protocols to support and rebuild these sensitive organelles for better patient stress outcomes.

Learning Objectives (3-5):  What will attendees learn from your session? Please be specific.

1. Be able to understand the importance of the Kreb’s cycle and Electron Transport chain in detail as it relates to the patient’s energy (ATP) and cortisol production.

2. Understand the sensitive nature of the mitochondria and the many assaults on their growth/development that can impact the outcomes in the patient. This includes not only what affects the mitochondrion directly, but also implications that impacts the outcomes of the Kreb’s Cycle or Electron Transport Chain.

3. Be able to take a patient’s history and utilize their lab results to recognize how the mitochondria are being affected and take action such as through lifestyle, detoxification, diet, exercise, and supplementation methods.
