Course Description:

Disordered eating behaviour frequently presents itself in individuals attending for naturopathic care. This presentation will help participants to recognize the ways in which disordered eating behaviour may present in practice, the role that weight bias in healthcare providers affects patient behaviour, and ways to approach care from an ethical perspective that encourages patients to engage in behaviour that can lead to improved health outcomes.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Recognize the ways that disordered eating behaviour may present in practice
  2. Understand how weight bias in healthcare affects patient behaviour
  3. Ways to approach care from an ethical perspective that fosters patient motivation to pursue behaviour that can lead to improved health outcomes.
