Course Description:

Although healthcare providers seem all too familiar with the term ‘allergies’, the identification and management of chronic and complex allergic conditions in the field of healthcare is still lacking. In this presentation, Dr. Emma Pollon-MacLeod, ND will discuss how inflammatory diseases, gut dysbiosis, medications, and environmental toxins can disrupt the immune regulatory process. She will also break down the differences between food allergies, food sensitivities, and pseudo-allergic hypersensitivies, as well as how these compounds can contribute to chronic allergic inflammation. Finally, she will discuss how to differentiate between Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) and other allergic conditions in clinical practice. This talk will provide case studies to illustrate the discussed integrative approach.
